LJA holds interaction with Sikkim University students

Limbu Department team visits prime Yakthung sites

14 Oct, Bijayapur. Limbu Journalist Association (LJA), Sunsari Chapter has held an interactive meet up with students of Sikkim University.

Yakthung students of the third semester of Master level affiliated with the Limbu Department of Sikkim University were greeted by local dignitaries on Tuesday at Chumlung Heem in Dharan.

Limbu Journalists Association, Sunsari Chairman Swarnimhang Phombo briefed about the organization and its activities to the delegates.

A 14-member team led by Assistant Professor Mugiphang Muringla, of the Limbu Department expressed his gratitude towards LJA and fellow locals. The team had arrived on October 7 followed by exposure visits at historic Bijayapur Fort, Sram Sanskriti Park, Limbu Library. They headed towards Yuma Thakkelung, Khibelung, Hangsemmalung at Chaubise Thum. Later, they also visited Cho?lung Park (Tehrathum), Menchhayem Thegu, Gufapokhari (Tehrathum/Sankhuwasabha).

The interaction was addressed by senior Journalist Harsh Subba, Laoti Mabo Limbu on behalf of the students, Jental Lawati on the cultural movement, Kshitij Limbu on economic policies.

Other attendees were KYC National Chumlung Member Tajub Limbu, Sunsari President Shiva Subba Isbo, Member Amar Izam, LJA Sunsari Advisors Pradeep Menyangbo Limbu, Bhairab Angla, Chandramaya Limbu, Sangita Subba, Limbu Students Forum Central Vice Chairman Sagar Sargam Chemjong, Cultural Activist Hitram Tilling Limbu, YFIN Dharan secretary Samrit Maden. The interaction was moderated by journalist cum writer Amit Thebe.
